About This Event

Intricate Art Dry Needling 2 is a 3 day, 27 hour course on Dry Needling in clinical practice. The entire body is covered, with emphasis on the hands, feet and face. You may begin with DN 2 if you have not needled before, no worries. You may combine CEU’s from multiple companies to satisfy state requirements.

The course begins with a review of DN history, safety, and current evidence-based research. DN 2 focuses on the hands, feet, face, subcranial spine, cervicogenic dizziness, and techniques to needle a multitude of other structures throughout the body.

Additionally, the art of “needle palpation” will be introduced, which includes identifying different tissues with the tip of the needle to improve the efficacy of treatment and patient outcomes.

Neuromusculoskeletal impairments, including common signs and symptoms and potential DN treatment routes are discussed in depth throughout the course. We also go through the known physiologic responses to needling different structures, such as (but not limited to):

  • Periosteum
  • Ligaments
  • Tendons
  • Muscle
  • Scar tissue

We also take an in-depth look at the methodology and effectiveness of DN for high level athletes as well as safety precautions and the proper handling of potential blood borne pathogens, per OSHA guidelines, associated with DN.

An introduction to manipulative therapy and how to use it in conjunction with dry needling is presented and discussed. This is a powerful combination of techniques that significantly improves patient outcome.

The primary method of learning for this course centers on the hands-on, clinical application of DN with partners. We will review clinical anatomy and practice DN of each tissue and system covered throughout the course.

Each student is required to sign a waiver and practice DN on a lab partner. If you are unable to be needled, no problem, please contact us prior to the course.

Following the course, each student receives access to both instructors via cell phone or email and are encouraged to contact us at any time with clinical questions or concerns.

Note: This course has a laid back, relaxing atmosphere (I was a fly fishing guide for 10 years afterall). We feel this is the most enjoyable, beneficial and productive form of instruction. It’s one of the most frequent compliments we have received while teaching in the past and students seem to truly enjoy it. This also improves learning, application and therefore, patient outcome.
